I have done my best to lay out my policies in detail so that you fully understand what's expected of you as a client. As with most things, policies often "sound harsh" and unfriendly when laid out on paper. This is definately not my intention! I am simply trying to avoid confusion and make sure clients know what is expected from them. Please make sure to ask me if you have any questions whatsoever!

Session Policies

  • You will need to fill out an intake form. This is for your own protection and to help me best understand your needs and requirements. This will be kept on file and your privacy will be respected.
  • Draping: All clients will be draped appropriately at all times. The only exception is if my clients who are elderly or differently-abled need assistance in which case safety will be the first priority.
  • I reserve the right to refuse any client for any reason or end a session at any time. Inappropriate requests will terminate the session immediately; payment in full will still be required.
  • I try to accomodate same-day appointments and encourage my clients to call last-minute if they realize they have an opening, however I ask that you respect my prior commitments and appointments if I cannot help. Please realize that if you only have certain times available you may not get them unless you call several days to a week in advance. (Don't -not- call, however!)
  • I do accept tips, however remind you that the best tip of all is having you refer me to your family, friends, and coworkers! Referrals are my lifeblood and are very much appreciated.
  • Skin care clients will need to have an in-depth facial consultation and skin analysis before any of my advanced results-oriented skin care treatments will be performed. This inlcudes a 3-4 week supply of a wide range of products.

Cancellations and Lateness

  • I request that you give me 48-hour's notice if you need to reschedule, and I require 24-hours or more notice. Emergencies are forgiven, however I will determine what constitutes an emergency.
  • Less than 24-hours notice for an office visit will incur a $25.00 fee. (If you cancel with less than two hours, please see the next policy.) Canceling affects three people--you, the therapist, and another paying client who may have used that time with enough notice. If cancellations become an ongoing problem, I reserve the right to ask for payment in advance.
  • No-shows or clients who cancel with less than 2-hour's notice will be billed for the full session charge or will void a gift certificate or package massage if one was to be used. Cancellations of less than 2-hours can be forgiven if a true emergency occurs. No-shows are responsible for their time regardless of circumstances.
  • Clients who book an appointment at my office and who show up within 20 minutes of their start time may still receive their treatment, however the treatment will be shortened. IE: If your appointment is from 5:00-6:00 and you show up at 5:15, your treatment will be from 5:15-6:00. The session charge will remain the same.
  • Clients who are more than 20 minutes late will be treated as a no-show and you will be asked to pay for the session. Please plan enough time to travel to account for traffic. For those who are new to Sarasota, please allow extra time during season.
  • If you feel that you are coming down with an illness, please take care of yourself and reschedule. You should feel better for five full days before coming in for a massage. I do not want your illness, my other clients don't want it, and you certainly don't want to extend or worsen the symptoms of your own illness! Don't wait until the last moment to call. An illness that you have had for several days does not constitute as an "emergency". If you come into the office with a contagious illness, you will be asked to rebook and to pay a $25.00 fee. Housecall clients that have an illness will be charged for travel time.
  • If I need to cancel your massage or skin care treatment with short notice (24 hours or less) for non-emergency reasons I reserve the right to offer you an upgrade or discount on your next appointment. I understand that your time is valuable as well. If possible, an alternate massage therapist will be offered. It is very rare that I cancel for reasons other than illness or emergency.
  • Please call no later than several weeks prior to the last "please use by" date of your gift certificate. Purchased gift certificates are valid for one year from the purchase date. Promotional gift certificates are valid for a variety of expriation dates (usually 90 days to six months). Your session must take place prior to the this date. Please make sure to book your session in advance. Don't wait till the last minute!

Payment

  • You may choose to pay with cash or check. I had a credit card service for the convenience of our customers and found I was losing a lot of money. I can arrange payment with credit card in advance using PayPal or Google Checkout.
  • Payment usually occurs after the session. This allows the client to add on a gratuity if he or she feels the therapist exceeded expectations. Gratuities are never expected or required.
  • I do my best to keep change on hand. Please be clear when handing me cash as to whether you need change and how much. This will help to avoid confusion.
  • Please make all checks out to Lizz Pugh, LMT.
  • If writing a check, you may include the gratuity. It will get passed on to the therapist. You may not, however, make the check for more than the session and get money back.
  • We try to make deposits weekly, however I make deposits at least once a month.

Refunds

  • I do not give refunds for treatments or gift certificates. I welcome any feedback my clients have to offer and ask that if you are unhappy or not enjoying your massage for any reason, you give me the opportunity to correct it: whether you don't enjoy the music; the pressure is too deep or not deep enough; you feel I are not addressing the goals I established together; and so forth. I are happy to customize each massage for every client. Please remember, I cannot read your mind. Each customer is different. Don't think that it's "supposed to feel" any certain way. If it doesn't feel fantastic it's up to you to tell me.
