We have done our best to lay out our policies in detail so that you fully understand what's expected of you as a client of Light Weaver Massage & Esthetics in Sarasota, FL. As with most things, policies often "sound harsh" and unfriendly when laid out on paper. This is definately not our intention! We are simply trying to avoid confusion and make sure clients know what is expected from them. Please make sure to ask us if you have any questions whatsoever.
Session Policies
You will need to fill out an intake form. This is for your own protection and to help us best understand your needs and requirements. This will be kept on file and your privacy will be respected.
Draping: All clients will be draped appropriately at all times. The only exception is if our clients who are elderly or differently-abled need assistance in which case safety will be the first priority.
Every therapist reserves the right to refuse any client for any reason or end a session at any time. Inappropriate requests will terminate the session immediately; payment in full will still be required.
Sarasota Hotels: A minimum of 48-hours notice is required and there must be no therapist onsite unless hotel management contacts us with their approval. (The best way to do this is ask the hotel staff to arrange the appointment and give them our contact information.)
We try to accomodate same-day appointments and encourage our clients to call last-minute if they realize they have an opening, however we ask that you respect our prior commitments and appointments if we cannot help. Please realize that if you only have certain times available you may not get them unless you call several days to a week in advance. (Don't -not- call, however!)
We will do our best to accomodate your choice of male/female therapist, however realize that each of our therapists is highly talented. You may need to wait longer for a session with one or the other based on individual treatment schedules for that week. Common misconceptions include that males can give deeper pressure than females, or that having a therapist of the opposite gender is like "cheating" on your partner. Our massages are completely therapeutic and legitimate. You will never be hit on by one of our therapists.
We do accept tips, however remind you that the best tip of all is having you refer us to your family, friends, and coworkers! Referrals are our lifeblood and are very much appreciated. Any client that refers a new paying customer will receive a half-hour thank you certificate.
Skin care clients will need to have an in-depth facial consultation and skin analysis before any of our advanced results-oriented skin care treatments will be performed. This inlcudes a 3-4 week supply of a wide range of products.
Cancellations and Lateness
We request that you give us 48-hour's notice if you need to reschedule, however we require 24-hours or more notice. Emergencies are forgiven, however we will determine what constitutes an emergency.
Less than 24-hours notice for an office visit will incur a $25.00 fee. Canceling affects three people--you, the therapist, and another paying client who may have used that time with enough notice. If cancellations become an ongoing problem, we reserve the right to ask for payment in advance.
No-shows or clients who cancel with less than 2-hour's notice will be billed for the full session charge or will void a gift certificate if one was to be used. Cancellations of less than 2-hours can be forgiven if a true emergency occurs. No-shows are responsible for their time regardless of circumstances.
Clients who book an appointment at our office and who show up within 20 minutes of their start time may still receive their treatment, however the treatment will be shortened. IE: If your appointment is from 5:00-6:00 and you show up at 5:15, your treatment will be from 5:15-6:00. The session charge will remain the same.
Clients who are more than 20 minutes late will be treated as a no-show and you will be asked to pay for the session. Please plan enough time to travel to account for traffic. For those who are new to Sarasota, please allow extra time during season.
If you feel that you are coming down with an illness, please take care of yourself and reschedule. You should feel better for three full days before coming in for a massage. We do not want your illness, our other clients don't want it, and you certainly don't want to extend or worsen the symptoms of your own illness! Don't wait until the last moment to call. An illness that you have had for several days does not constitute as an "emergency". If you come into the office with a contagious illness, you will be asked to rebook and to pay a $25.00 fee. Housecall clients that have an illness will be charged for travel time.
If we need to cancel your massage or skin care treatment with short notice (24 hours or less) for non-emergency reasons we reserve the right to offer you an upgrade or discount on your next appointment. We understand that your time is valuable as well. If possible, an alternate massage therapist will be offered. It is very rare that we cancel for reasons other than illness or emergency.
Payment
You may choose to pay with cash, check, credit or debit card.
Payment usually occurs after the session. This allows the client to add on a gratuity if he or she feels the therapist exceeded expectations. Gratuities are never expected or required.
We do our best to keep change on hand. Please be clear when handing us cash as to whether you need change and how much. This will help to avoid confusion.
Please make all checks out to Light Weaver Massage.
If writing a check, you may include the gratuity. It will get passed on to the therapist. You may not, however, make the check for more than the session and get money back.
We try to make deposits weekly, however we make deposits at least twice a month.
Refunds
We do not give refunds for treatments or gift certificates. We welcome any feedback our clients have to offer and ask that if you are unhappy or not enjoying your massage for any reason, you give us the opportunity to correct it: whether you don't enjoy the music; the pressure is too deep or not deep enough; you feel we are not addressing the goals we established together; and so forth. We are happy to customize each massage for every client.
